
Baseball Signs Seven In Early Signing Period

MACON – The Mercer Bears and head coach Craig Gibson announced the addition of seven players on the first day of the early signing period.
Wyatt Still | LHP
Gray, Ga. | Tattnall Square Academy | East Cobb Astros
Still, a 6-foot-1 southpaw pitcher, commits to Mercer from the Tattnall Square Academy. As a junior, Still led to Tattnall Square to a 22-7 record and a trip to the GIAA Final Four. Named his region's Pitcher of the Year, Still's 96 strikeouts over 68 innings allowed him to receive All-State honors as well.
A familiar name to some, Still signs with his parents' alma mater. His father, Josh Still, played one season for Mercer's baseball team.
Canyon Meeks | SS
Waverly Hall, Ga. | Chattahoochee Valley Community College | Harris County HS
Listed at 6-foot-2, Meeks is a towering shortstop that has spent the last few seasons at CVCC. Despite battling injuries in his first two seasons as a pirate, Meeks appeared in eight games for CVCC last season and posted a .308 batting average with an RBI and a double in 13 at-bats.
Before enrolling at CVCC, Meeks had a successful career at Harris County High School. As a senior, Meeks received First Team All-State honors after maintaining a .435 batting average.
Ben Fussell | INF
Douglas, Ga. | Coffee HS | Prime Baseball
A 5-foot-11 middle infielder, Fussell signs with Mercer after playing high school ball at Coffee High School. As a junior, Fussell finished with a .450 batting average, .551 on-base percentage, five home runs, 50 total hits and 46 runs scored in just 33 games played. These stats led to Fussell becoming the GHSA Region 2 5A Co-Player of the Year and receiving First Team All-State honors.
During his time with Prime Baseball, Fussell became a member of the 2025 Perfect Game WWBA World Championship All-Tournament Team and the Elite-Hitters Team.
Alec Koehly | OF
Dunwoody, Ga. | Dunwoody HS | East Cobb Yankees
A 6-foot-3 centerfielder from Dunwoody, Georgia, Koehly commits to Mercer after a dominant career at Dunwoody High School. As a junior, Koehly maintained a .376 batting average with a 1.094 OPS, 38 total hits and 13 extra-base hits. Dunwoody finished 30-5 and were GHSA 4A Region Champions with Koehly earning a spot on the All-Region First Team.
During his time with the East Cobb Yankees, Koehly posted a .338 batting average with an 1.123 OPS and 12 extra-base hits to propel the Yankees to a 22-8-2 record.
Veer Patel | UTIL
Vidalia, Ga. | Vidalia Comprehensive HS | East Cobb Astros
Listed at 6-foot-2, Patel has experience playing just about every position on the diamond. In his junior year at Vidalia, Patel received All-Region First Team and All-State honors. Patel was a pivotal piece to Vidalia's Final Four run, tossing a no-hitter in their playoff run and posting a .450 batting average with over a 1.300 OPS.
Daniel Head | RHP
Utica, New York | P27 Academy | Palmetto Blacksmiths
Standing 6-foot-even, Head, a native of The Big Apple, plans to come to Macon after spending the last few years with the P27 Academy, an elite training academy for high school students and post-grad students in South Carolina. As a junior, Head maintained a 2.50 ERA while competing against some of the best high school competition across the country.
While playing for the Palmetto Blacksmiths, Head's 2.00 ERA led the Blacksmiths to a 20-10 record.
Conner Strandmark | RHP
Byron, Ga. | First Presbyterian Day School | East Cobb / Factory Select  Â
A towering 6-foot-5, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, Strandmark signs with Mercer after a dominant junior season at First Presbyterian. Strandmark went 8-2 last year, tossing 83.1 innings and leading the Vikings to a 32-5 record. Named his region's Pitcher of the Year, the GIAA also named him to the All-State and All-Region squads. Strandmark fanned 127 batters and maintained a 0.92 ERA to help First Presbyterian reach the GIAA State Championship.
