MACON – The 6th-ranked Mercer football team signed 16 football players to grant-in-aid offers on Wednesday during the first day of the 2025-26 early signing period.
Â
The Bears (10-2, 7-1 SoCon), who will make their third-straight appearance in the NCAA FCS Playoffs beginning on Saturday, found recruits at seven different positions, including a quartet of additions on both the offensive and defensive lines. The signees hail from five different states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
"We couldn't be more excited to add the newest Bears to our den," said head coach Mike Jacobs. "There is a ton of work that goes into a successful class, and so many across our campus helped to make it happen."
Â
Additional signees are expected and will be announced at a later date.
Â
The sixth-seeded Bears (9-2, 8-0 SoCon) will begin their road in the NCAA postseason on Saturday when they suit up to take on 11th-seeded South Dakota (9-4, 6-2 MVFC) in the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs. Kickoff has been scheduled for noon at Five Star Stadium.
Â
Tickets for the game are still available and can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets.
