SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be just the 11th all-time meeting between Mercer and Kennesaw State. The Bears lead the all-time series, 9-1 including each of the last nine meetings. Mercer defeated the Owl last year in Kennesaw, 25-7.
LAST TIME OUT
Abby Morrison and Sami Lowinger each scored a team high two goals for the Bears, but the Mercer women's lacrosse team fell at home to Vanderbilt, 19-7 Wednesday afternoon from Five Star Stadium.
Mercer led 6-5 late in the second quarter, but Vanderbilt then outscored Mercer, 14-1 the rest of the way to earn the non-conference win.
SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE
Kennesaw State is 2-4 so far on the season. The Owls have wins over Life University and Canisius. Like Mercer, Kennesaw State opened its season against USF, who the Owls lost to by a final of 19-6.
In the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll, Kennesaw State was picked to finish last in the 7-team Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). Midfielder Shannon Harrington was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
Through the first six games of the season, Kennesaw State is scoring 11.5 goals per game and allowing 12.2 goals per game. The Owls rank second in the ASUN in shots per game at 28.5. In the draw circle, Kennesaw State is winning 47.9 percent of its draw controls, led by Alyssa Angelo with 22 draw controls.
The Commodores are winning 45.0 percent of their draw controls led by draw specialist Maddie Barkate with 13 draw controls.
Kennesaw State's leading goal scorer is Preseason All-Conference midfielder Shannon Harrington who has 18 goals through six games. The expected starter in goal for Kennesaw State is Natalia Cruz who has a 14.07 goals against average and a 35.1 save percentage.
