
Women's Golf Places Three On All-Conference Team

Mikayla Dubnik, Katie Scheck and Emilia Väistö all earned All-SoCon honors
MACON, Ga. - Mikayla Dubnik, Katie Scheck and Emilia Väistö were all named to the All-Southern Conference Team as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to being named All-Conference, Väistö was named the SoCon Freshman of the Year in recognition of her stellar freshman season.
Mercer's three All-Conference selections were the most among all teams in the SoCon.
For Dubnik, it is her second career All-SoCon selection following being named to the All-Conference Team last season as well. She averaged 73.3 strokes per round over 30 rounds of golf across the 2024-25 season which was the third best average in the SoCon. She finished as the runner-up at the SoCon Championship last week and finished in the top 20 in all six tournaments in the spring.
The honor is the first of the career for Scheck who had a 74.1 strokes per round average over 27 rounds of golf during the season which ranked sixth in the conference. Scheck had a season low round of 67 in the first round of the FAU Paradise Invitational. She had five top 20 finishes in nine tournaments with her best finish being tied for eighth at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational.
Väistö is the first player under coach Drinkard to be named the SoCon Freshman of the Year. She averaged 73.7 strokes per round over 30 rounds of golf during the season which was the fifth best average in the SoCon. She had four rounds under 70, including a low round of 68 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. Väistö finished in the top 20 in eight of 10 tournaments, including a third place finish in her first collegiate tournament at the Tiger Classic at Clemson.
