GREENVILLE, S.C. – Starting pitcher Colton Cosper and relief pitcher Terry Busse were named to the 2025 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team, the league announced on Sunday following the championship game.
Â
In his final start in a Mercer uniform, Cosper turned in a legendary performance, tossing a 140-pitch complete game to lift Mercer over Wofford in an elimination game. Cosper struck out seven Terriers while only walking one to pick up his seventh win of the season. The left-hander finished the season with a 3.57 ERA, the lowest by a Bear since Jackson Kelley posted a 1.35 ERA in 2022. For his career, Cosper earned 20 victories, striking out 230 in 279.2 innings. A workhorse for the Bears, Cosper appeared in 69 career games, including 43 starts, and recorded four complete games.Â
Â
Also playing his final game in the Orange & Black, Busse wrapped up a fantastic senior season with a gutsy performance out of the bullpen to earn the win over The Citadel in another elimination game. In 4 – 1/3 innings in relief, Busse struck out four Bulldogs without allowing a run. With his team clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning, Busse stranded the bases loaded to help keep his team alive. A transfer from Georgia Tech, Busse's lone season in Macon was a memorable one, recording eight saves and four victories as a key member of the Mercer bullpen. In 38 – 2/3 innings, Busse struck out 46 while limiting opponents to a .168 batting average.Â
