MERCER – Athletics department officials from Mercer University announced Monday afternoon that the Bears will honor area educators as part of Teacher Appreciation Night on August 30 when the Orange & Black battles Presbyterian at Five Star Stadium.
Â
Complimentary tickets will be offered to area educators as part of the event, and can be claimed by completing the signup sheet at MercerBears.com. The first 100 teachers through the gates of Five Star Stadium will be presented with commemorative t-shirts, and educators will also be given the opportunity to register for free prizes that will be given out throughout the course of the game.
All teachers in attendance at the August 30 contest between MU and PC will also be invited down to the playing field for an in-game recognition. The department is also set to recognize area teachers of the year on its social media channels for the remainder of the month leading up to the event.
The Bears will lift the lid on their 51st season of intercollegiate football on August 23 when they trek to Montgomery, Ala., to take on 4th-ranked UC Davis in the FCS Kickoff. Mercer will open the home portion of its 2025 slate the following week (August 30) when it welcomes the Blue Hose to Five Star Stadium for a 6 p.m. matchup.
Reserved-seat season tickets for the 2025 home football schedule have already gone on sale and can be purchased for as little as $75 by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. Access to game day parking in the BEAR PLUS lots will continue to be based on giving levels to the Mercer Athletic Foundation.
