MACON – With superlatives abundant amid 13th-ranked Mercer's current four-game winning skein, three Bears earned a spot among the nation's elite on Thursday afternoon when sophomore Simon Zeidan joined juniors Cameron Goggins and Tyler Murray on Phil Steele's Mid-Season All-America Team.
Â
Goggins, a Florida Atlantic transfer, and Zeidan, a transplant from West Georgia, both donned first team honors on the publications offensive and defensive squads, while third-year starter Tyler Murray was named to the third team.
Â
All three players have played a pivotal role in the success of the 2026 season thus far. Goggins has logged 20 tackles across eight starts, while also boasting a team-best five interceptions. Zeidan ranks ninth among national leaders with 9.3 points per game on the strength of an FCS-best 2.0 field goals per game. Murray, who has started all eight games at center for the Bears this season, boasts a grade of 86.1 percent in pass-blocking situations and has allowed just one sack in 490 offensive snaps.
Â
Mercer (6-2, 3-1 SoCon) will enjoy a much-needed bye week this week before resuming its 2026 slate on October 31 when the Orange & Black culminates Homecoming Week on campus with a key league tilt against The Citadel (2-5, 0-3) at Five Star Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
