Fourth Player of the Week honor for Scheck during 2025-26 seson

MACON, Ga. - Mercer graduate student Katie Scheck has been named the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competitions held March 18-24, the league office announced Wednesday.

The Golfer of the Week award is the first of the spring season for Scheck, but fourth total during the 2025-26 season.

Scheck earned her third Golfer of the Week honor following an individual finish of tied for 16th at the Florida State Match-Up. where she posted final score of 5-over-par 221. Scheck finished with 36 pars which was tied for the fifth most in the field.

Scheck carded rounds of 73, 73, and 75 at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. A course that played difficult all weekend long with the average round score being 75.9 and just eight golfers finished with a final score under par.

Scheck and the Bears are preparing for its last regular season tournament of the year as the Bears will host the Houston Lake Invitational, March 20-22 from Houston Lake Country Club in Perry, Georgia.
