Ackerman Shoves His Way To Southern Conference Pitcher Of The Week

MACON – Jess Ackerman was nearly untouchable in two dominant appearances out of the Bears' bullpen last week and became the third member of Mercer's stable to receive Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week recognition this season.
Ackerman threw 7.1 shutout innings across two outings. The senior southpaw earned his first save of the season after tossing three frames of one-hit ball against Georgia Southern. Ackerman ended the week with 4.1 spotless innings with eight strikeouts and earned his third win of the season.
The Cumming, Georgia, native ended the week with a 0.00 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and held opposing hitters to a .120 batting average against him. Ackerman also posted a tremendous 12-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
