Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At National Golf Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Tylar Whiting finished tied for seventh place, her second best finish of the season, to lead the Mercer women's golf team at the National Golf Invitational (NGI) from Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
As a team, Mercer finished in fourth place out of 10 teams at 33-over, 897. Wyoming won the NGI with a score of 9-over, 873. Sunday's final round was the best round of the tournament for the Bears. Mercer carded a round of 7-over, 295 on Sunday which was the third best round in the field on Sunday.
Tylar Whiting's finish of tied for seventh place was her third top 10 finish of the season. She wrapped up her tournament with a final round of 71 (-1). Whiting led the field with 39 pars over the three days. On Sunday, Riley Kim and Mahima Vurupatur each made eagle on the par 4, 14th. The Bears were the only team to have multiple players make an eagle at any point throughout the tournament.
That concludes the 2025-26 season for the Bears.
