
Mercer Sends League-Best 373 Athletes To SoCon Academic Honor Roll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The excellence displayed by Mercer's scholar-athletes amid a record-breaking 2025-26 academic year continued to receive high praise on Wednesday afternoon when a league-best 373 individuals were named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

The Bears, who combined to record a department-record 3.546 cumulative grade point average across the fall and spring semesters, also raked in a conference-best 137 Commissioner's Medals which are presented to individuals sporting at least a 3.8 GPA. A SoCon-best 50 Mercer scholar-athletes finished the 2025-26 academic year with a perfect 4.0 GPA as well.

A total of 2,698 student-athletes across the 10-school conference earned academic honor roll recognition on Wednesday. That total is the second-best in league history, just shy of the 2,735 student-athletes last academic year.

The SoCon Academic Honor Roll was established in 1989 established to recognize the conference's academic success and consists of student-athletes who participated in conference-sponsored varsity sports and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the academic year.
