Mercer To Host Fan Appreciation Day, Sports Clinic On August 15

MACON – Autographs, the opportunity to meet student-athletes and coaches and a free sports clinic will highlight the Mercer athletics department's Fan Appreciation Day that will take place on August 15. The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon at Five Star Stadium and admission is free.

Student-athletes and coaches from five fall sports teams – men's and women's cross country, dance, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball – will be available for autographs for the first hour of the event. Scholar-athletes from the football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball teams will host a free sports clinic on the playing surface of the stadium immediately following.

The women's soccer team will officially lift the lid on the 2026-27 athletics season for the Bears on August 12 when it treks to southwest Mississippi to battle Jackson State, while the men's soccer squad will open its season two days later (August 14) against Stetson at Betts Stadium. The volleyball team is slated to open its 2026 campaign, August 22-23, when it takes part in the Troy Invitational in Troy, Ala.

Donning a preseason ranking for the fourth time in the last five seasons, the football team will welcome East Texas A&M to Macon on August 29 for the FCS Kickoff under the lights of Five Star Stadium. That contest is slated to be televised live to a national audience by ESPN.
