Three Bears Shoot Rounds In 60's On Final Day At Golfweek Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Mercer women's golf team closed out the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on a high note Wednesday as three Bears carded rounds in the 60's to help the Bears finish with their best round of the tournament from Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado.
Tylar Whiting carded a round of 67 (-5), and Riley Kim and Mahima Vurupatur carded rounds of 69 (-3). Whiting's round of 67 was tied for the best round in the field on Wednesday, outside of the top 10. Mercer had a team score on Wednesday of 6-under, 282, a 26-shot improvement from its first round on Monday. It was Mercer's best team score since the 2024 spring season when the Bears recorded a round of 8-under, 280 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational.
For the tournament the Bears finished tied for 15th place in the field of 20 teams at 17-over, 881. No. 2 USC won the tournament by 14 strokes with a score of 47-under, 817.
Whiting and Kim each finished tied for 64th at 4-over, 220. With Whiting's round of 67 on Wednesday, she moved up 27 spots on the leaderboard and after Kim's round of 69, she moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard.
Next up for the Bears is The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State, October 5-7.
