2011 (Junior): Took over as the ace of an impressive Mercer pitching staff and put together a season on par with some of the top collegiate hurlers in the nation … Made 16 appearances in the campaign, making 15 starts … Put together a sparkling 8-1 overall record to go along with a 3.26 ERA … Struck out 66 batters in 80.0 innings pitched … Dominated opposing hitters to the tune of a .260 batting average … Was especially tough against lefties who he held to a .177 batting average (11-for-62) … Ranked in the top-10 in the A-Sun Conference in multiple statistical categories, including ERA (2nd), wins (T-4th), opponents batting average (6th), games started (T-9th) and strikeouts (T-9th) … Put together back-to-back scoreless starts after allowing just two hits in six innings against Alabama State (Feb. 26) and throwing eight shutout innings against A-Sun foe Belmont (March 6) … Struck out a season-high nine batters in consecutive starts against Kennesaw State (March 25) and Campbell (April 1) … Earned a win after allowing just one run on seven hits while tying his career-high by going eight innings at Winthrop (April 30) … Collected his eighth win of the season after throwing 6.2 innings in the first round of the A-Sun Championship against Kennesaw State (May 25) … Was recognized by his peers when he was voted onto the A-Sun All-Conference first team selection.
2010 (Sophomore): Evolved into one of the top left-handed pitchers in the A-Sun Conference after a steady sophomore campaign as a weekend starter for the Bears … Made 18 appearances on the season, including 13 starts … Posted an 8-4 record in 2010 with a 6.53 ERA … Recorded a team-high 66 strikeouts in 71.2 innings pitched … Also led the team with a 2.36 strikeout-to-walk ratio … Finished tied for third in the A-Sun in wins and 11th in the conference in strikeouts … Tied for first on the squad with eight outings of at least five innings pitched … Pitched a gem in just his second start of the season against Evansville (Feb. 27), allowing only three runs while striking out six in a career-long outing of 7.2 innings … Got the ball in the Orange and Black’s A-Sun Conference opener against Campbell (March 13) and didn’t disappoint, allowing just one unearned run to go along with eight strikeouts in seven innings of work … Threw seven innings of one run ball while going pitch-for-pitch with Big East Preseason Pitcher of the Year Randy Fontanez in a 2-1 road win against South Florida (March 19) … Struck out a career-high 11 batters in a start against A-Sun rival Jacksonville (March 26) … Hurled 6.2 scoreless innings of work on a season-high 113 pitches against ETSU (May 29) in the semifinals of the A-Sun Conference Tournament ... 2009 (Freshman): Served as a spot starter and middle reliever for the Bears making 17 appearances and two starts … Posted an 0-1 record and finished seventh on the team and fourth among starting pitchers with a 6.75 ERA … Struck out 24 batters in just 21.1 innings of work … Pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in a 9-2 win against Bethune-Cookman (March 3) … Tossed 2.1 innings of scoreless relief and struck out a career-high five batters against The Citadel (March 11) … Earned his first start of the year against A-Sun member FGCU (April 4) … Pitched three innings and allowed just one earned run while throwing a career-high 65 pitches … Put together back-to-back scoreless appearances against A-Sun members UNF (April 25) and Jacksonville (May 11).
