2013 at Mercer: Made the switch from a two-wayplayer to a full-time starting pitcher and shined in his new roleas the Sunday starter in the Bears weekend rotation … Made19 appearances on the season and ranked second on the team with 14games started … Racked up a 7-2 record and finished 10th inthe A-Sun Conference with a 3.06 ERA … Threw a team-high85.1 innings and struck out 67 batters, the seventh-most of anypitcher in the A-Sun … Owned a 3.7-to-1.0 strikeout-to-walkratio and ranked eighth in the A-Sun in holding opposing hitters toa .249 batting average … Dominated left-handed battersthroughout the year, holding them to a .200 (25-for-125) clip… Threw seven scoreless innings and allowed only three hitswhile striking out six to pick up the win against Bethune-Cookman(Feb. 24) … Was named the A-Sun ConferencePitcher of the Week after throwing a complete gameone-hitter against Miami (OH) (March 2) … Earned another winby scattering nine hits and allowing one earned run while recordingseven strikeouts in a 9-1 victory at Stetson (March 24) …Threw 6.2 innings and tied his career-high with eight strikeouts ina 2-0 win over East Tennessee State (May 12).
2012 at Mercer: Was the Bears everyday secondbaseman for the second-straight season and showed considerableimprovement with his bat while also staying involved on the mound... Appeared in 54 games, making 53 starts ... Hit .302 for theyear with 29 runs scored and 23 RBI ... Had 14 multi-hit games andespecially excelled against left-handed pitching, batting .444(24-of-54) against southpaws ... Compiled an 0-1 record with a 3.14ERA on the mound as both a reliever and starter ... Threw 14.1innings combined between seven relief appearances and one start ...Had a terrific season debut, going 3-for-5 with two doubles andthree RBI in a 22-6 win over Morehead State (Feb. 17) ... 2011 at Mercer: Made significant contributions onthe mound, at the dish and in the field as a second baseman andright-handed pitcher for Coach Gibson … Appeared in 49 gamesas a true freshman, making 47 starts all at second base …Hit .263 on the year with 10 doubles and 21 RBI … Workedprimarily as a middle reliever on the mound, putting up a team-low1.91 ERA in 17 appearances … Had a 1-2 overall record withtwo saves while striking out 31 batters in 33.0 innings pitched… Also excelled in the field, accumulating a .985 fieldingpercentage from his second base position … Was recognizedfor his versatility and talent both on the mound and in the fieldby being one of just 25 players named to the JohnOlerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award Watch List...
