A veteran coach on the prep level, as well as on the club circuit, Rachel Marsh begins her first year at Mercer in 2024-25 as an assistant coach for the Bears. The wife of head coach Josh Marsh, Rachel joined MU’s coaching staff in September 2024 after spending the last six years heading up her own club organization.
A veteran on the middle school and prep circuits, Rachel Marsh spent five seasons on the coaching staff at The Heritage School in nearby Newnan where she served as both the head coach of the middle school program, as well as an assistant coach with the varsity squad. She paced the middle school squad to a pair of region titles and one district championship amid a pair of undefeated campaigns, and played a key role in leading the varsity squad to a trio of state championships, as well as a pair of state runner-up finishes.
Marsh got her start as a scholastic coach at Calvary Christian School in Columbus as both the middle school and junior varsity coach, but has since honed her skills on the club volleyball level as well. She spent two years (2018-19) as a coach with the A5 South club, and overlapped her time in Fairburn by establishing the Marsh Volleyball Performance (MVP) organization, a juniors beach volleyball club that boasts a number of alums that now complete at the collegiate level.
A 1989 graduate of the College of Charleston, Rachel recently celebrated 19 years of marriage to Josh. The couple has one daughter, Molly, who is a freshman on the beach volleyball team at North Florida.
