Alex Lopez joined the Mercer women's soccer program in the summer of 2025 as a Graduate Assistant. A native of Madrid, Spain, Lopez played collegiate soccer for four years at the University of Tulsa (2021-24).
A four-year letterwinner at Tulsa, Lopez started in 56 of 58 games as a goalie for the Golden Hurricane. He played 5,201 minutes in goal. Lopez had a total of 156 saves for a .687 saves percentage. He allowed 71 goals in 58 games for a 1.23 goals against average. Lopez ended his career ranked second in Tulsa program history in goalkeeper shutouts (14), third in goalkeeper games played (58), third in minutes played (5,201), fifth in saves (156) and eighth in goals against average (1.23).
