A board-certified athletic trainer who has already pocketed a wealth of experience in her previous professional stops, Hannah Briner begins her first year with the Mercer athletics department in 2023-24 as an assistant athletic trainer for the Bears. She is specifically responsible for the prevention and care of injuries for MU’s cross country, women’s soccer and men’s basketball programs.

Briner trekked to Middle Georgia from Tallahassee, Fla., where she spent two seasons on the Florida State Sports Medicine staff. While with the Seminoles, she worked with both the men’s and women’s swimming & diving squads, as well as one season with FSU’s volleyball team. The Owensboro, Ky., native also recorded valuable clinical hours with a trio of varsity teams at both Evansville and Kentucky Wesleyan while pursuing her graduate degree, as well as a stint on the sidelines with Florida's football team during the 2020 campaign for the Gators.

Briner earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Indiana in 2017, and later earned a master’s degree in athletic training from Evansville in 2021.
