Jim Tessmer joined the Bears' athletics department in 2006, but has been a very familiar face in the Macon area for many years.
A Macon resident since 1987, Tessmer also works part-time as an on-air personality and overnight engineer for WPEZ radio since 1989. He has also been involved in the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club. He has been a member of the downtown Macon club since 1987, doing the weekly bulletin since 1990, as well as a stint as its Lt. Governor (2000-01) and currently serving as the club secretary.
Tessmer is also a former minor league baseball front office staffer from 1983-84 and 1986-2002, working for affiliates of the Reds, Red Sox, Pirates and Braves along the way. In 1985, he was on staff with the New York Yankees.
Tessmer and his wife Melissa have been married since October 1990. In 2007, the couple adopted four siblings: Paloma, Mark, Kevin and Marshall.
