
Volleyball Falls at Lipscomb, 3-0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman Ellie James and junior Caroline Carlton each recorded seven kills as the Mercer volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-19) to Lipscomb on Friday night at Allen Arena. Mercer dropped to 1-16 (0-7 A-Sun) with the loss while the Lipscomb improved to 11-6 (5-2 A-Sun).
James reached her seven kills total on 30 swings while Carlton achieved hers on 24 attempts. As a team, Mercer booked 27 kills on 105 attempts with 18 errors in the losing effort.
After dropping the first set, Mercer found itself tied with Lipscomb 13-13 in the secon frame before the Lady Bisons ripped off four-straight points to gain separation. The Bears would get no closer than three points the rest of the way. In the final frame, Lipscomb scored eight of the first 10 points before cruising to the victory.
Senior Carly Iannarino dished out 22 assists while earning three kills on six attacks. Senior Emily Rochefort notched 14 digs to go along with an assist in the loss.
Mercer continues its road trip at Northern Kentucky on Saturday. March time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
