
Volleyball Swept by Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Carly Iannarino and freshman Tori Penrod combined for 27 assists as the Mercer volleyball team fell to Jacksonville 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-10) at Swisher Gymnasium on Friday.
Mercer fell to 1-25 (0-16 A-Sun) while Jacksonville moved to 24-3 (13-2 A-Sun).
Mercer led 23-20 in the first set before Jacksonville scored the set's final five points. In the second set, Mercer fell behind 10-4 and never led. In the third set, Mercer was up 3-1, but Jacksonville scored nine straight and never trailed from that point on.
Caroline Calton had eight kills and freshman Ellie James had 13 digs in the loss.
Mercer continues A-Sun play at North Florida tomorrow. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
