DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Mercer women's golf team slipped to ninth place at the LPGA Xavier Invitational on Saturday after collecting a team score of 320 at the LPGA International Hills Course.
Mercer's two-day total of 635 leaves the Bears three strokes behind Bethune-Cookman for eighth place enter Sunday's final round. The Bears are also 11 strokes ahead of Florida Gulf Coast, while Morehead State continues to lead the field at 595.
Sophomore Katy Harris carded Mercer's low round of the day, shooting 77 to bring her two-day total to 151. Harris is set to begin the final round in a tie for ninth place individually.
Senior Sarah Louie Brown, senior Meredith Owen and sophomore Marrin Hanna all booked 81's on Saturday. Brown is tied for 39th at 159, Owen is tied for 48th at 162 and Hannah is 51st at 163. Freshman Hannah Mae Deems improved upon her Friday total by three strokes with an 83 and is tied for 64th place.
Sunday's final round is slated for an 8:15 a.m. start.
