
Women's Tennis Ends Road Swing with Setback at Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Mercer women's tennis team capped a six-match road swing Thursday afternoon, traveling to the University of Chattanooga and falling 6-0 to the Mocs at the UTC Tennis Center.
The Bears fall to 3-5 on the season and come up short in their bid for a third-straight victory, while the Mocs improve to 5-2 on the year.
Opening the day with singles action, Mercer quickly dropped points at the top two spots, while Haley Powell battled at No. 3 singles before falling 6-3, 6-2. The Bears fell in all six singles matches and suffered a 6-0 setback to forego doubles play.
The Bears return to action Friday, Feb. 28, welcoming Florida A&M to town for a 2 p.m. showdown at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
