JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Mercer women's basketball team is set for a rematch with Jacksonville Tuesday evening in the opening round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, as the Bears look to avenge a pair of regular season losses to the Dolphins and advance to the semifinals for the second-straight season.

Story Lines
THE MATCHUP WITH JU: Jacksonville leads the all-time series 17-14 after sweeping the regular season series from Mercer by a combined six points. The Bears will look to knock off the Dolphins in the opening round of the tournament for the second-straight year after picking up a 65-53 victory inside Hawkins Arena last season.
ROBINSON NAMED ASUN DEFENSE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Teanna Robinson has had one of the best defensive seasons in Atlantic Sun Conference history and was rewarded Monday as the league's Defensive Player of the Year. She became just the fifth player in league history to reach 100 blocks in a single season and ranks in the top five in the country in blocks per game at 3.6 and has 105 total blocks on the year.
GRANT HONORED AGAIN: An All-Conference first team selection from a season ago, Grant ranks 16th in the league in points per game at 12.3 to earn second team honors as a senior. She scored a season-high 22 points against North Florida on March 6, with 18 of those coming in the first half.
BRIANA MOVING ON UP: Briana Williams continues to climb the all-time scoring lists when she tallied 19 points against Jacksonville Saturday to become just the seventh player in program history to score 1,400 points. As a junior, Williams has 1,405 total points, which ranks 30th in Atlantic Sun Conference history.
Last Time Out
The Mercer women's basketball team held a double-digit lead late in the second half Saturday afternoon, but a 15-4 run by Jacksonville to close the game gave the Dolphins a 67-65 victory to cap the regular season at Swisher Gymnasium in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
Scouting Jacksonville
Jacksonville (13-16, 10-8) enters Tuesday's contest in the midst of a two-game winning streak after battling back to defeat Mercer in the final game of the regular season.
The Dolphins opened the conference slate with five-straight victories, but struggled down the stretch, winning just five of their final 13 games.
Queen Alford paces the JU attack with 13.4 points per game to rank ninth in the league. She scored a game-high 21 points against Mercer Saturday afternoon, while Briona Brown had her coming out party with a trio of three-pointers in the final three minutes to anchor the comeback victory.
Sherranda Reddick is the only other Dolphin averaging double figures at 12.6 points per contest. The sharp-shooter is third in the league with 54 three-pointers made, but the guard has already reached the century mark in turnovers on the year with 105.
