MERCER SPOTLIGHT

THE BEARS IN THE TEAM STANDINGS
Mercer shot back-to-back 12-over scores of 300 to end the opening day of action in 13th. The Bears head into Tuesday's round five shots out of 11th in an event that is led by Lipscomb's 36 hole total of 553.
HOLE OF THE DAY
Heinicka carded a 1-over 73 on the back nine thanks to the team's best hole of the day. The senior needed just three shots to find the hole, finishing with his second collegiate eagle on the 500-yard 10th hole.
COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"We couldn't quite get it going today. The guys hit it pretty well and put themselves in birdie situations, however, we struggled reading the greens and our putt game suffered because of it. I think we can put it together tomorrow though, finish strong and carry that momentum to next week's tournament."
MERCER NOTABLES
- Mercer totaled 16 birdies through the first two rounds, including a team-leading five from Ren.
- Connelly tied for second in the tournament with a par on 28 holes through the first 36 holes of golf.
COMING UP
