QUOTABLES
"We had a tough game tonight against a Wofford team that has caused some fits in the conference and came with two good results this past week. We came out a little flat in the first half, and to Wofford's credit, they put a good chance away and made it difficult for us. Our team responded and tied it up before halftime. I challenged the players at halftime to come out with more energy and really press Wofford and attack more and at a faster pace. We did a good job with that and created a lot of chances in the second half and I felt we deserved the 2-1 victory. Now it's on to a very big game on Sunday for our Senior Day against Furman that hopefully will lead us to host a quarterfinal game next Saturday." – Head Coach Tony Economopoulos.
RECORDS UPDATE
Mercer improves to 8-6-3 (5-2-1 SoCon), while Wofford moves to 4-7-4 (2-4-2 SoCon).
UP NEXT
Mercer will close out the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2:00 p.m. against Furman. The match is set to kickoff at Bear Field, following a Senior Day ceremony for Mercer's three seniors.
