Women's Tennis Grabs 6-1 Win Over Savannah State

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team opened the home slate of its season with a 6-1 win over Savannah State on Thursday afternoon at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
The Bears dominated nearly from start to finish, winning the doubles point and the five of the six singles matches.
Roxy Bartz gave Mercer its second point of the match, before Savannah State's Kamelia Dimitrova won at the No. 1 spot to move the match score to 2-1.
The Bears closed out the match with wins from Laura Kelly, Haley Powell and Xandra Fougner. Liza Klyachkin was also credited a win at the No. 6 spot to put the final score at 6-1.
Next up, Mercer will face Alabama State on Sunday, Feb. 15 in Montgomery, Ala.
