Men's Tennis Grabs 5-2 Win Over Samford To Conclude The Regular Season

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team rebounded after a tough loss on Friday with a 5-2 victory over Samford on Saturday at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
"The men played well after a tough loss yesterday," said Head Coach Eric Hayes. "It was good to see Oliver (Snaider) win both his matches on his senior day. Samford is a tough team and there is a good chance we will see them in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament. Now the real season starts on April 24th."
Mercer started strong, taking a 3-0 lead after winning the doubles point and the first two singles points. Samford made it a 3-2 match with a pair of wins at flights two and four.
Manuel de Luis sealed the win for the Bears with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the number six spot, and Arsav Mohanty added another point with his three-set win.
The SoCon tournament will take place April 24-26 in Greenville and Spartanburg, S.C.
