
Women's Golf Seventh at SoCon Championship

POOLER, Ga. – Mercer freshman Hannah Mae Deems continued to lead the women's golf team at the Southern Conference Championship on Monday, shooting a 1-under 71 to aid the team's second round 306. After two days, the Bears sit in seventh on the leaderboard at 611.
Mercer sits 11 strokes behind Western Carolina for sixth place, while Furman lead the field at 573. Chattanooga is second at 582, while Samford (589), Wofford (595) and ETSU (599) round out the top five.
Deems' Monday 71 followed a 70 on Sunday and is tied for third place overall. Furman's Taylor Totland and Alice Chen are both one stroke ahead of Deems and tied for first place.
Freshman Jaelyn Tindal shot 74 on Sunday and carded a 76 on Monday. Her two-day total of 150 positions her in a two-way tie for 21st place.
Sohpomore Marin Hanna shot 77 on Monday, improving on her Sunday total by three strokes. At 157, Hannan is tied for 33rd place individually.
Senior Sarah Louie Brown has posted scores of 81 and 82 and is alone in 39th place. Junior Meredith Owen is tied for 40th after registering rounds of 83 and 82.
The final round of the 2015 SoCon Championship is slated for an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday.
