Women's Golf Tied for 15th at Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. – The Mercer women's golf team put together an opening round score of 309 to finish Friday's action at the Rebel Intercollegiate in a tie for 15th place. The Bears were led by freshman Hannah Mae Deems' 3-over 75.
The Bears are tied with Tulsa and 10 strokes ahead of Southern Miss on the leaderboard. Furman leads the field with a first round total of 288.
Deems carded a birdie three on the 18th hole and finished the day tied for 35th place individually. Sophomore Marin Hanna used one more stroke than Deems and is tied for 48th place.
Freshman Jaelyn Tindal posted a 6-over 78 and is tied for 65th place. Junior Meredith Owen and senior Sarah Louie Brown each needed 80 strokes and are tied for 82nd place.
The second round of the Rebel Intercollegiate is slated for an 8:51 a.m. start.
