Women's Tennis Defeated by UNCG

GREENSBORO, S.C. – The Mercer women's tennis team fell to UNCG, 6-1, on Thursday at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
After dropping her first set, Laura Kelly rallied and forced a tie break to win 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) at flight six. Xandra Fougner also played a tie break set, but fell 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (13-11) to Kayla Gammie.
Grace Korta and Roxy Bartz also picked up an 8-4 win at the number one doubles spot.
"Today was another tough one for this team," said Head Coach Eric Hayes. "I am proud of the way they battled and some found a win. These players have had to deal with some bad luck that they had no control over early in the season, but they have never quit. Good things will come their way."
Mercer will conclude the regular season on Sunday in Macon against Chattanooga.
