MACON, Ga. - Mercer University Athletics announced that it will be moving its radio broadcasts of the Bears' football and basketball contests as well as the Bob Hoffman and Bobby Lamb coaches shows to 97.3 FM The Bull Icons this season, while also remaining accessible for free online via iHeartRadio.
For the third straight season, every Mercer football game will be broadcast live and will begin with a pregame show one hour before kick off with the "Voice of the Bears", Rick Cameron. Entering his 12th season as the Bears' play-by-play announcer, Cameron will once again be joined on the pregame show by former NFL defensive back and veteran analyst Roger Jackson.
Cameron and Jackson will handle the in-game duties all season alongside sideline reporter Megan Trammell, who provides on-field updates throughout the game and a postgame interview with head coach Bobby Lamb during the post-game show.
Each Bears' home game will also feature a one hour tailgate show with host Jason Hawk, which will air two hours prior to kick off. The show offers a recap of the previous week's game, a look at the day's matchup as well as interviews with Coach Lamb, Mercer players and other guests.
Fans can access the broadcast each Saturday on 97.3 on their FM dial, online at www.973thebullicons.com or through the iHeartRadio app.
Broadcast information for the Bears' men's and women's basketball programs will be released later this fall.
