QUOTABLES
"I was really happy with our team's performance today after a tough loss on Friday night in double overtime. We challenged the players to come out today and do two things: compete for the duration of the match and find a way to get it done. Today, we came out and we executed some set pieces, we got two goals off corner kicks, the players stepped up and we finished some opportunities. We had six shots on goal and five went in, and that's a great stat. The team needed this after a tough couple weeks of not getting the results we wanted. Now we're back hopefully in a positive manner and we'll get ready for MTSU." – Head Coach Tony Economopoulos.
RECORDS UPDATE
Mercer moved to 2-4-2 on the season and UAB fell to 1-5.
UP NEXT
Mercer will face Middle Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Bear Field in Macon. The game will be the second in a double header, as the men's team will play at 5 p.m.
