KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Marin Hanna carded a team-best 3-over-par 75 Tuesday as Mercer finished ninth overall at the 20-team Palmetto Intercollegiate on the Turtle Point Golf Course at the Kiawah Island Resort.
Hanna, a day removed from hitting a hole-in-one, continued to lead the Bears on the course. The senior remained undeterred on the course, despite landing one shot on the green next to a snake. Hannah Mae Deems, buoyed off back-to-back even-par rounds to open the tournament, was the top individual on the leaderboard for Mercer as she tied for eighth.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
The Bears carded a 15-over-par final round Tuesday to finish ninth overall at 39-over-par 903 for the tournament, five strokes ahead of Southern Conference foe East Tennessee State. Mercer finished just five strokes behind No. 34 Augusta (+34) and seven strokes behind No. 43 Chattanooga (+32).
MERCER ON THE INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Hannah Mae Deems was the top Bear on the individual leaderboard, carding 4-over-par to tie for eighth and defeating two golfers ranked in the top 100. Marin Hanna followed at 8-over-par to tie for 19th. Katy Harris (Ole Miss) won the individual title at 4-under-par.
NEXT TOURNAMENT
Mercer returns home to host the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship at the Idle Hour Golf Club in Macon on Oct. 31 – Nov. 1.
