Women's Tennis Falls to No. 39 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The Mercer University women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to No. 39 Auburn on Saturday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Auburn swept Mercer in both matches, with the first match of the day ending at 4-0, while the second played to completion for a 7-0 score. Mercer is now 2-3 on the season, with all three losses coming to teams ranked nationally in the top 40.
In the first match, Katia Stravroulaki was on the verge of forcing a third set in her singles match, as she was up 5-1 in the second set when the match was called.
Next up, Mercer will host Jacksonville State on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. The match is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
