Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to Troy

FT. WALTON BEACH, Fla. – The Mercer University women's tennis fell to Troy, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
Troy took a 1-0 lead in the match after grabbing the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The Trojans won the first three singles matches to clinch the match, 4-0, before Xandra Fougner won at flight two (6-2, 6-4) to give Mercer a point.
Troy won at flight six and Katia Stravroulaki picked up a 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-7) win at flight one to close out the match and move the final score to 5-2.
Katie Sidor was injured in the first set of her singles match and forced to default at flight four.
Next up, Mercer will face Louisiana Monroe on Tuesday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
