
Chinchilla, Hayes Join Tennis Program as Graduate Assistants

MACON, Ga. – Gabriella Chinchilla and Christopher Hayes have joined Mercer Tennis as graduate assistants prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.

Chinchilla played tennis collegiately at Bethune-Cookman, earning All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles in the MEAC Conference. During the 2014 season, she led Bethune-Cookman to a MEAC Championship and the NCAA Tournament. The San Salvador, El Salvador, native achieved an ITF junior world ranking of 539.

Hayes was a four-year varsity starter at Ithaca College. He was named to the First-Team All-Conference team in singles four times and twice earned First Team All-Conference honors for doubles. Hayes spent time coaching at UGA Tennis Camps and the Genesee Valley Club, while also gaining experience working with the USTA and US Open.
