MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Lauren Lightfritz continued to pace the Bears as Mercer moved up one spot to finish tied for seventh at the Golfweek Program Challenge Tuesday.
A freshman from Suwanee, Georgia, Lightfritz posted the top round for the Bears in all three rounds at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, placing tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard, finishing 8-over-par. Meanwhile Mercer tied Gardner-Webb overall while beating Tennessee Tech by four strokes.
The Bears posted three golfers in the top half of the field in the team's first tournament of the year.

MERCER IN THE TEAM STANDINGS
The Bears moved up one spot on the final day of competition to finish tied for seventh with Gardner-Webb. Mercer topped Western Carolina, the only other Southern Conference team in the field, by 22 strokes as the Catamounts placed 13th. Boston College won the team title at 13-over-par.
NEXT EVENT
The Bears return to the course on Friday, Sept. 23 when Mercer will compete at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina. The three-day, three-round, 54-hole tournament is hosted by Furman.
