Stanton Schorr, Jerry Ren claim top-20 finishes

KENNESAW, Ga. – Mercer concluded its fall season by shooting 22-over-par (310) to finish tied for sixth place at the Pinetree Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club on Tuesday.

The Bears entered the day one shot off the lead, but faltered over the final 18 holes of play. Jerry Ren jumped three spots on the individual leaderboard to finish tied for 17th overall with a three-over-par second round. Only 36 holes were played due to inclement weather in the Kennesaw area Monday.

Mercer on the Team Leaderboard
Mercer finished five shots outside of the top-five while Southern Illinois claimed the Pinetree Intercollegiate title with a total score of 583. The Bears were tied for sixth with Gonzaga; the two teams were six shots ahead of eighth-place finisher, Jacksonville State (+28).

Mercer on the Individual Leaderboard
Stanton Schorr dropped seven spots on the individual leaderboard but still managed a top-15 finish with a four-over-par 36-hole performance. Spencer Ball, who entered Tuesday's round tied for fourth, fell 26 spots to a tie for 30th after a 11-over-par 83.
