MIAMI – Mercer's women's golf team improved three strokes from its opening round score and moved up three spots on the team leaderboard as the second round of the Hurricane Invitational came to a close Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Lauren Lightfritz made the most improvement as she shaved eight strokes off her opening round score to lead the Bears with a 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
Mercer moved up three spots and is just five strokes behind Penn State and six strokes shy of host Miami. Louisville leads the field at 2-under-par.

WEDNEDAY'S PAIRINGS
The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The Bears will be paired with Middle Tennessee and South Florida over the final 18 holes.
