Football Staff Title Changes Announced

Mercer set to kick off 2017 season against Jacksonville on Aug. 31
MACON, Ga. – Mercer head coach Bobby Lamb announced multiple football coaching staff title changes Wednesday as the Bears look ahead to the start of preseason camp next week.

Grant Cain, who enters his fifth season with the Bears, has been promoted to assistant head coach. He will remain in charge of the inside linebackers and oversee the specialists. Mike Kolakowski will remain Lamb's defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach. La'Donte Harris, one of Mercer's two most recent coaching hires, will assume the role of recruiting coordinator in addition to leading the wide receivers. Running backs coach Carter Barfield will serve as the assistant recruiting coordinator as well.

Mercer begins preseason camp Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Five Star Stadium in anticipation of its season-opening contest against Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Aug. 31. Football season tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
