Mercer Partners with Sportsmic for Tailgate Show, Radio Broadcast

Radio broadcast of all 11 games available via Sportsmic App
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer athletics department has partnered with Sportsmic, a local broadcast network based out of Warner Robins, Ga., to produce the Mercer Tailgate Show and stream the radio broadcast of all 11 Mercer football games via its app.

The Sportsmic Tailgate Show will air live from Black Field two hours prior to kickoff at all five Mercer football home games, including Thursday as the Bears open the season against Jacksonville at 7 p.m. at Five Star Stadium. The hour-long broadcast will feature interviews with coaches and student-athletes from multiple Mercer programs as well as insight about the upcoming contest.

"We are honored to be in partnership with Mercer University," said Sportsmic partner Greg Elrod. "Our team members are excited about the opportunity to be a part of game day and look forward to providing a high energy, informative program."

The Sportsmic app is available at the App Store for IOS and Google Play for Android. It will feature a Mercer-specific channel that listeners can use to transition seamlessly from the Mercer Tailgate Show into "Voice of the Bears" Rick Cameron's pregame show and live broadcast of the game via 96.5 FM The Bull.

Formed in 2011 to provide high quality media exposure for athletes in Middle Georgia through live radio, streaming audio broadcasts, photography and written articles. Partners Conrad Nix, Mike Davis and Greg Elrod founded the company out of a passion for spreading the news of athletics programs in Houston County. The broadcast network can also be found online at Sportsmic.com, featuring photography, written articles, scoreboard and desktop listening options.
