
Frank Malloy, Conrad Nix to Call Football Season Opener

Well-known Middle Georgia faces to man the broadcast booth
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer athletics department has announced 13WMAZ news anchor Frank Malloy and legendary Georgia high school football coach Conrad Nix as the play-by-play and color announcers for the ESPN3 broadcast of the Bears' season-opening football game Thursday.

Mercer opens the season against Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Thursday at Five Star Stadium. Malloy and Nix will be joined by sideline reporter Kristin Banks.

Malloy, who joined 13WMAZ in 1982 as a sports director, has multiple positions at the news station, including being co-host of Football Fright Night and a co-anchor of Eyewitness News.

Nix won 300 games as a head coach in Georgia and Alabama during a career that spanned 41 seasons. He is one of only 10 high school coaches to spend the majority of their careers in Georgia and win 300 games. Nix led Northside High School (Warner Robins) to a pair of Class AAA state championships in 2006 and 2007.
