Quick Turnaround Sends Bears to Grandover Collegiate

Mercer men to play second tournament of the week in Greensboro, N.C.
MACON, Ga. – A quick turnaround will send the Mercer men's golf team to Greensboro, N.C. this weekend for the UNCG-hosted Grandover Collegiate, which will be the Bears' second tournament of the week.

Mercer will play 54 holes over two days at the Grandover Resort, starting with 36 on Saturday. The tournament is Mercer's final competition this fall. Play will start with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears have tied for fourth or better in three of four tournaments this fall.

"We have a big challenge this weekend at UNCG with a highly-ranked field of teams," said head coach Kirk Kayden. "I'm confident our guys are up to the task at hand.

"We are coming off two straight 18-hole team rounds of solid play in Kennesaw, and we need to continue that into this weekend's tournament. It would be a huge confidence builder for our team to end the fall season on a high note."
