Abigail Zoeller Named SoCon Women’s Soccer Player of the Month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Abigail Zoeller, a sophomore midfielder for the Mercer women's soccer team, has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Month. The league office made the announcement Thursday afternoon.

Zoeller, a native of Independence, Ky., has emerged as the SoCon's top offensive performer through the first month of competition. A starter in all 14 matches, Zoeller leads the conference in points (24) and shots (58). She is tied for first in the SoCon with nine goals and six assists.

Zoeller, who was named the SoCon Player of the Week on Sept. 18, has led the Bears to a 6-4-4 record, including a 1-1-2 conference ledger. The Bears return to action this Friday, Oct. 5 when they travel to Charleston to face The Citadel Bulldogs. Start time is 3 p.m. (ET).
