Bears add tight end Justin Bray on third day of early signing period
MACON, Ga. – Mercer's #MUvment19 class grew by one on Friday as Collierville, Tenn. product Justin Bray signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bears.
Â
Bray is the 17th overall signee and second tight end to join the #MUvment19 class since the early signing period opened on Wednesday morning. The 17 signees span five states – 10 from Georgia, four from Florida and one apiece from Alabama, Ohio and Tennessee. Included in the class are three offensive linemen, three defensive backs, three linebackers, two running backs, two tight ends, one defensive lineman, one quarterback, one wide receiver and one long snapper.
Â
"I'd like to commend our coaching staff and support staff for identifying young men and their families that are a great fit for Mercer Football," head coach Bobby Lamb said on Wednesday following the signing of Mercer's first 16 signees. "The young men we've signed to our program have a combined grade point average of 3.5, which is the highest [average] that we've ever had for an incoming class.
Â
"We're ready to get some of these Bears enrolled early for the upcoming spring semester as we shift our focus to the fall of 2019. Our staff is thrilled to have these young men joining our program and we believe they are difference makers."
