Bears drop both matches against Jacksonville, North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer (6-13, 0-6 ASUN) dropped both of its ASUN Conference matches in the Sunshine State against Jacksonville and North Florida on Friday. The Bears fell 3-2 in both contests.

The Bears' third and fifth seeds went undefeated with different pairings for both matches. Mercer vs. Jacksonville included the duo of Amber Gibson and Gracie Garanich as the third seed, and Marina Chavez and Emilee Wissmach as the fifth seed. The Mercer-UNF match included the pairings of Kacy Ogden and Sophie Peel as the third seed, and Kylie Keeling and Elli Merchant as the fifth seed.

Mercer will continue conference play by challenging Jacksonville and North Florida for the second time this weekend. The Bears will face Jacksonville Saturday, April 7 at noon followed by a match versus North Florida at 2 p.m.
