Twelve Bears Named to Phil Steele All-SoCon Teams

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mercer football team saw 12 players named to the 2018 Phil Steele Preseason All-Southern Conference Team, which was released Friday, Aug. 10.

Of Mercer's 12 preseason selections, three Bears – offensive lineman Austin Sanders, defensive end Isaiah Buehler and linebacker Will Coneway – earned First Team honors. Mercer had at least three players named to the publication's first, second and third teams.

Mercer opens the 2018 campaign at Memphis on Sept. 1 before hosting Jacksonville in its home opener at Five Star Stadium on Sept. 8.
