Martineau Named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the third time this season, Mercer men's soccer player Trevor Martineau has been named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Mercer was a perfect 2-0-0 last week, with wins over USC Upstate and Georgia Southern

Over the last two games, Martineau tallied seven points and scored two goals and three assists. In the win at USC Upstate, Martineau dished out two assists and scored the game-tying goal in the 85^th minute of regulation to force overtime.

The Montreal native scored one goal and dished out an assist in the Bears win on Sept. 27 at Georgia Southern. This season, he leads the SoCon in points (17), assists (7) and is second in goals (5). His seven assists ties his single-season career-high.

The Bears are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 1 when they host Winthrop at 7 p.m. at Betts Stadium.
