SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Chattanooga leads the all-time series over Mercer, 18-9-1, dating back to 1909 when the two teams first met. However, the Bears have won two straight against the Mocs with 30-10 and 13-9 victories the past two seasons, respectively.
Â
In 2018, Mercer earned its first road win over Chattanooga since 1933 as the Bears held the Mocs without a touchdown in a 13-9 Southern Conference victory at Finley Stadium. The Bears scored all 13 of their points in the fourth quarter to overcome a 6-0 deficit en route to their third win in four years against Chattanooga. Tyray Devezin scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 2:29 remaining in the game after Stephen Houzah returned a kickoff 91 yards to the Chattanooga one-yard line.
Â
SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs enter the weekend after one of the tougher schedules in the FCS to start the season - playing #17 Jacksonville State, #2 James Madison and at Tennessee. Chattanooga's offensive success starts with its line, that has allowed just one sack all season. Its ball-hawking defense is second in the league with five interceptions and third with eight takeaways.
